993 Child Seat Help

I have a '97 993 Targa, with which I'm still very much in love. Trouble is that I now also have a six month old daughter and the 993 is my primary car. Wifey's starting to get a little anoyed that I can't share in the picking-up and dropping-off duties...I guess she has a point. And I want to make sure that our daughter is raised properly - that is, that she gets exposed to Porsche pleasures early in her development.

The question is, does anybody have experience with child seats in a 993? I think that Porsche offers a passenger airbag defeat switch - but I noticed that the child seats are no longer in the catalogues or on the Web. What gives? Anybody got a source for advice or have experience with a child seat in a 993?

Thanks for the help!

Did you check with the dealer? I also know that automotion/performance had one . I am using our regular booster seat now with the lap belt for my four year old daughter, No airbags in my SC. If you need to unload that
car and get a minivan let me know ! That is my favorite P car!

The Feb 2001 issue of 911 & porsche world has an article on refurbished seat belts. It also mentions that the same company makes child safety seats. The seat is called a klippan design and are made specifically for porsches. The details given are as follows:
Quickfit Safety Belt Services

There are a few seats that Porsche makes for the 993 (depending on the age of your child). All come with airbag deactivation.

The two primary are the Zoom and the Prince. Prince is for older kids. They work well in the front seat, not in the back. It is a bit of a squeeze in the back.

I believe that Pelican has them on this website. If not, call them. I am sure they can order for you. Also, call a few dealerships. They sell them.
