What is this steering wheel?
Anyone have any idea on what this wheel is, value, history, etc.?

yeh - vaguely -- that top pic looks like a wheel that is pretty rare and people talked about before....
you may need to do a search - I swear I've seen it with a description and pics on here before. |

Shawn, that looks to be a Italvolanti wheel as used on most of the early 930S cars. My factory 79 DP935 came with the same wheel.

One recently sold on Pelican in the $150 range. That was a pretty good price. I believe they are worth about the same as the newer 930S wheels. Do you have the other parts for yours?

I'm pretty sure I recall seeing that wheel in the Bev Hills Motoring Accessories catalog from the '80s. I have it around somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. As I recall, it is supposed to have a padded leather center piece that covers the silver part.

Definitely worth the 160 Euros if that's the case, but it's pedigree is a little sketchy. Now if there were a Peter Gregg signature on it... ![]() I've got a neat old Abarth for my E, will probably stay with that.

Shaun is correct. That wheel was used on BMW race cars in the 70's. I have one with the pad and adapter for a 320i. It has a BMW Motorsports logo in the middle. I recall seeing them on the IMSA 320i Citycorp cars that David Hobbs drove and on the M1's . I also recall seeing them on some early 930's and maybe even a 935 or 2. I got mine from Peter Gregg's BMW dealership in 1980.
