Any tips on tightening 84 Cabriolet drivers side window.
Hello,
I would like to tackle tightening my drivers side window on my 84 Cab. Rattles and is loose. Any tips or tech info once I open the door panel. Is the window glued in place or mechanically fastened? Thank you, John Mitchell Big island Hawaii |

Hi John, that is a very good question. It is too bad that I don't remember which way it is. I have not had my door panels off for 5 or 6yrs, and I just can't remember. I am thinking that they were actually a compression fit in the bottom window regulator channel. I don't remember having to remove any through bolts at the bottom track. I may be incorrect, but I don't think that they are bolted into the bottom channel. Good luck!!

My driver's glass actually fell out of the channel last year in my 84 Cab. Rather than convert to the cross-arm regulator (& the work associated with it), I used some silicone sealant to plant the glass in the channel. Knock on wood, has held for a year now...
I believe our host has (had) some diagrams showing it.
