What's the best spark plugs...
for a 1986 911 Carrera Euro version 3.2 engine. No mods that I know of, 76K miles, runs good.
Also, what about the plug wires? Would you suggest the top of the line high priced stuff or the standard replacement items? Thanx. |
NGK BPR6ES seems to be the popular choice for carreras.

What plugs are you running now?
If I'm not mistaken, the RoW 3.2 should use W4CCs (at least I believe that's what I purchased!). Here's a conversion chart from Bosch to NGK Bosch-NGK cross-reference |
I have an '88 3.2 in my car with 10.3:1 pistons in it. IMHO, A BPR6ES is too hot for 10.3:1. IIRC NGK recommends a BPR8ES for Euro engines. I've run BPR6ES and the BPR8ES and now have BPR7ES plugs in it. The 6s displayed way too much "white" around the center for me, so I've switched to something a little colder. I ran the 8s for awhile, but am currently using the 7s.
IMHO, I would use either BPR7ES or BPR8ES in a 10.3:1 engine. I would love to hear Steve Weiner's opinion on this. |
I used BPR6ES in my 3.2 (US/Canada model) and now run BPR7ES in the 3.4 that has 10.5 CR...
