Hey guys,
My dad bought a 1.7 914 new back in the early seventies. He was a car nut all his life, until he died at the age of 53 (day after his birthday) two summers ago. Anyway, I was thinking it might be neat to track down his car. Who knows, it might be in a million pieces by now. I was born after it was sold, but nonetheless it started my family interest in these wacky cars. Any ideas. I think I could probably find the VIN, but what next? David |

Hey David!
Up here in Michigan, you can take the vin number to The secretary of States office and get a complete history on who ever has owned the car. Did this on my car and it is quite interesting! Huey581 86' 911 Cab |

I think it was $ 10 or $ 12 dollars and it took a couple weeks. They actually sent me
copies of micrifilm titles every time the car was titled. The history went all the way back to the original owner and what dealer he purchased it from! I believe they just called it a "Title Search"! Huey581 86' 911 Cab |
