Well I took the 911 out of town for the first time this weekend and she performed flawlessly. I am just really glad I didnt get a speeding ticket the car really likes to go 85-90 and it sure feels good when you downshift from 4th at about 85 and step on it. Its amazing the way the car pulls even at high speeds...what awesome cars we all have.

Indeed. The great thing about the Porsche flat 6 is its wonderful torque curve. Other engines may make more peak horsepower, but these things make power almost everywhere. No weak spots, and they seem to just keep pulling and pulling.

Glad to hear you made it out of town. 911s are great road trip cars. They keep you alert and enthused the entire time. Especially if you stay off the dull interstate. That's active safety. No falling asleep at the wheel. Maybe a danger of grinning so big that you can't see out of your squinting eyes though. ------------------ Tyson Schmidt 72 911 Cabriolet 92 C-2 Cabriolet |

Have done a couple of roundtrips from NYC to Indianapolis, with my Bulldog, no less. Only Bulldog who can say he knows what 145 MPH feels like. Once, on a 400 mile stretch coming back, I had a nice tailwind, set the cruise control at 70 MPH in 6th gear and was able to eke out close to 25 MPG (I pilot a '98 911 Carrera S). Pretty awesome machines all around.
