71 911E brake upgrade

I'm considering upgrading my S-brakes to a 4 piston type. This is my question. I've heard of many upgrades i.e. 951,968 style brakes adapted to early 911's. What does this entail? What type of mounting hardware needs to be used. Where would one get the hardware? Does it also entail changing the master cylinder? If so to what. I'm really interested in hearing from anyone that has either done this or knows info about it. I'm trying to keep the cost reasonable so that's why I'm looking at the 951 or 968 brakes (used)and not have to pay several thousands $. But if anyone knows of other brake upgrade alternatives please let me know.
