911t won't start after running fine?????

’72 911t 2.4

Well the story seems simple, the car was running well and now it won’t start. The engine turns over but there is no sound at all of fire but I can smell fuel in the stacks. The ignition timing seems to be correct with the distributor on cylinder #1 at TDC to reset things (and at 5 degrees) and removal of a spark plug wire with a spare spark plug inserted shows spark.

Concerning timing....on the pulley I have two tics 5 degrees apart on the left, two tics 5 degrees apart in the center and a single tic on the right(35 degrees?)

My timing is set to fire 5 degrees(the left tic mark of the center top tics)
But I would swear it used to be set on the tics to the left of the pulley.
Is that correct?

As a note:
Plenty of fuel in the tank
Crane fireball 700 ignition
New wires (tested)
New coil (tested)
rotor (tested)
Grounds have been checked

I am absolutely stumped! And it's perfect targa weather in NC!

Any help is appreciated.........

The two tics on the left are Z1 and 5 degrees ATDC. The two tics on the "center" are 30 and 35 degrees BTDC. The single tick is TDC for another set of pistons, it is 120 degrees after Z1.

Z1 is TDC for pistons number 1 and number 4. You want your timing to be at 5 degrees ATDC with the vacuum hose connected and engine at idle. (these are the "left" two tics)

What is not clear from your post is did the car just not start after running fine or did it not start after you changed the timing?
