Location of VIN - '80SC

Just noticed, doesn't seem to be a VIN in the trunk.

Have the plaque on the A pillar and the sticker on the door jamb B pillar.

Is there another location where a VIN is stamped into the body/tub?

Thanks in advance.

If you look in the trunk near the smugglers box you will find a stamping. It will have the WPO then it will have ZZZ regardless of whether your car is ROW or not. Then the next numbers should match your VIN.

It's an '80 SC. VIN is like thus: 91AO14XXXX

The 17 digit VIN's didn't start until '81.

There is not a number in the trunk by the smuggler's box like on the '82 I have.

The number was being put there from at least 1965. The pre-17 digit numbers should match the VIN exactly I believe. It should be between the gas tank and the smugglers box, under the carpet and stamped into the tub on the left side looking into the trunk.

OK, I found it... where I thought it might be. The PO had painted the trunk and the paint was thick enough that the number was gone.

Scraped off the white paint and underneath was the original black paint and the VIN.

Thanks.
