This is THE document used to set up the pump on the pump dyno - (in conjunction with individual pump spec sheet) the "missing link" to all of the collective Porsche MFI documentation.

Anyone have a copy? There are lots of MFI folks that could really benefit from this document. If someone can send me a copy, I'll make sure it gets posted in the Ultimate MFI resources thread.

I just picked up a copy of Harold T. Glenn, Glen's Diesel and Gasoline Fuel-Injection Manual (1973). There is some good information which I haven't seen elsewear in this book. I'll be happy scan and convert this to a pdf for anyone who is willing to share Bosch MFI Test Instructions VDT-WPP 711/1B. OK, I'll be putting it on the Ultimate MFI resources thread anyway but still ... please look through your collection for this document.

David,

Do you (or any other Pelicans) have a copy (I don't) of the Bosch technical series "Bosch Diesel In-line Fuel Injection Pumps" - given the origins of the MFI system, it may have some relevant info

I'm lead to believe that the Porsche style governor EP/RLA was derived from a unit called EP/ZEB.

I'm considering buying a copy of the Diesel inline book, but would like to know if its worth it. It might also have info on boost pressure compensators.

Regards
John

Hello, Mr. Cramer!

I'm glad to tell you that we may provide you with the requested documentation about the KL-pumps (mechanical fuel injection) - as soon as we have them found in our archives. You will be able to purchase this documentation via our ebay-store http://stores.ebay.de/Bosch-Klassik-Teilevermittlung (see "Literatur"). Documentation about the overhaul of historical starters is available yet - including a reading rehearsal.

I will contact you again once the documentation is available.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

Test Instruction

A rough translation "VDT-WPP 711/11 4.63 Test instruction for petrol injection pump with mechanical metering unit "

This doc was written before the advent of the Porsche style double row PED pump, (note document date April 1963) but it covers the PES6KL (MB & 906E) PES8KL (MB & AM V8) and the EP/RLA regulator used by both versions (including the Porsche style PED)

Note that it refers specifically to the Mercedes Benz water cooled thermostat as opposed to the Porsche hot air thermostat (a later evolution - no doubt covered in VDT-WPP 711/11B.

It covers the tools required, calibrating the pump on a pump dyno according to the (seperate) test spec for each pump model, right through to sealing the appropriate screws with yellow paint and a lead seal.

Looking forward to getting Bosch's latest version of this doc (VDT-WPP 711/11B)

Regards
John

Hello. The store is not available anymore. Is there some other place to buy it or get it? I just got a Bosch EFEP test bench and would like to try it.

Pelican has an MFI techarticle Porsche 911 Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection Overview that contains a lot of links, info, hints, articles.

Bosch documents seem to be available from the PDF downloads section of Welcome to 911MFI.com

Thank you. I'm aware of the great document compilation here at the forum. I'm looking for the "prufanleitung" documents in English or in better quality compared to the FAX shared here back in 2008.
