tires 95 993

Probably been covered many times...I have a 993 with 18 twist rims and I need some new tires. This car is an everyday driver for me and my life on Bridgestone Potenza (Z rate) was pretty short. Any recommendation out there for a bit of a longer life that still has the "fun" factor.

You might want to post in the 993 forum.

I've always like Pilot Sports and P-zeros. My new-to-me '95 C4 has Kumho Ecsta's that I dislike intensely. They have terrible grip in the wet and don't have the road-gripping confidence that Pilot Sports or the P-zero has on dry roads. The Ecsta's feel like all-seasons but wear out just as quickly as any other performance tire.

I have Pilots (225/35/18 and 285/30/18). They grip well, but very expensive. I have several friends with Kumho SPTs that like them very much for street use. I had Kumho MXs prior to getting my 18s. They were well worn and slick when cold. I would search for tires in general. I don't believe 993s are so unique that other 911 tire discussions wouldn't apply.

Advan Neovas and Goodyear F1 DSG3's are tires I've had on one or the other of my Porsches. They are both phenominal in dry and wet. On the upper end of the cost spectrum, the Goodyear's are a bit less, but you get what you pay for when it comes to tires.
