Ghl Exhaust Install

ok heres a question noone has been able to answer yet. any of you installed a GHL complete exhaust system????????

when attaching pipes to head studs..........do you USE or REUSE existing HEAT EXCHANGER ALLEN NUTS????

or just get new exhaust stud nuts and both exhaust studs are nutted to torque, with nuts.

OEM heat exhangers have allen barrel nut on one side and on the other exhaust stud they have just a simple normal run of the mill everyday NUT as a fastener.

last few days i have been caught looking up under the rear ends of other peoples porsches trying to find answer.

Hi !!!
Forget the allen barrel nuts and use for all new stud nuts.
The problem with allen is that it's very difficult to keep them out ,look at the picture :

great thank you for the info. after staring at this for 7 days of PBR BLASTING prepping for the GHL complete system install day..........we figured it probably took at least a few giant kegs of bier at der hofbrau haus to over engineer the OEM fastener system auf der exhaust.

have learned that changing even small things can be detrimental after 44 years of teutonic over engineering!
