A Calipers or S ?

How do I tell if I have A or S Calipers for my 1977 911S. Or Am I a dumbass...........

The quickest way is to measure the bolt spacing on the caliper to the strut. 3.5" = s caliper 3" = A caliper

wouldn't a magnet be quicker? (cast iron magnetic, alum "s caliper" not)

...don'tthe A & S have the same spacing too?

A lot of S calipers have been swapped over for SC calipers over the years so if they were stock sure. However, measuring is a sure fire way to tell.

OOPs IC why you pointed out my mistake. I was thinking M vs S for the 77 A is actually the SC caliper.

So magnet is the quickest way to tell A vs S. and center to center bolt spacing for M vs S (and magnet)
