Hello, (and sorry for the cross-posting but i want this to get out to everyone)
on my web site are the sounds of various racing cars. i also have the sounds of my 924 engine, and my friend's Acura. i would LOVE to have a full catalogue of the sounds of ALL the Porsche engines. not only do i think this would be fun... but it would be nice to hear what different intake, engine, and exhaust modifications sound like. if anyone is interested in having their Porsche motor music put on the web for all to hear... then please feel free to e-mail me, or respond to this message. i'd love to have every Porsche from a 356 to a 911 GT1 represented. i will not turn down any entries. your Porsche motor sound will be included, as well as your information. check out the other sounds here: http://obin_jess.tripod.com/mp3.html thanks! Hey wow, Shawn's Acura Sounds just like my Integra GS-R... when the muffler pipe rusted out. It sounds like he might have the Folgers 25hp pro-tip.
If it ever stops snowing here I'll try to make a recording of my 911 with av GHL dual out. You can find some sound files at http:www.ghlmotorsports.com for several Porsches. Just look under Porsche headers. ------------------ Dan Tolley 1987 911 Coupe http://www.cheaterswayside.com/911/gallery.asp?sort=0&userid=294 |

Obin...the acura sounds like my 89 integra LS when I had 2 or 3 holes in the muffler (lots of rattling like your friends). Now it has some cheapo turbo muffler from JC Whitney...sounds much better.
How/What did you use to "capture" the sound with. I'll bet most of us don't have the means to get audio files to you. ------------------ Clint 73T mfi coupe |

heh heh, you know, now that you mention it, Shawn did hit some debris on the road and had to get his exhaust repaired. i'll ask him about it.
what did i use to record the sounds? everything i recorded was done on a cheap Panasonic portable dictation cassette recorder. i think i paid $12 for it 5 years ago at a stereo shop sale. i plugged a cable from the recorder into my sound card on my computer, and then i recorded it with the program that comes with windows. nothing special. for the more advanced ones... i used Sound Forge to make all the edits. then to compress the sounds from .wavs to .mp3.. i used a freeware program called "dionysus mp3". i think i got it from www.download.com obin |
