The '71 is Finally Back on the Road!
Ok. After 1-1/2 years my car is finally back on the road. I started in September of 2006 with an interior restoration. Six months of trails and tribulations, mainly with trying to find seats, I ended up restoring the originals, the interior complete I graped my girlfriend Jenelle and said lets take a ride. I got about 3 blocks from the house and pow. The nut fell off of the transmission main shaft and punched a hole through the casing. Well it's been about year since then and the trans is rebuilt and I've put about 300 mile on her. I will give my first try at trying to post some pictures. Here it goes.......

Wow the seats look great! I really like the Nardi wheel on a lwb too. Looks like a great job.
I will keep my brushed aluminum opinions to myself. |

Kevin - Your car is looking terrific! I especially like the Nardi wheel. Maybe we can get together sometime when the weather improves, and tell each other lies!

Thanks guys. I did everything myself except for the front seats. I sent them out and had them totally rebuilt. Reclining mechanism on the drivers side was broke, needed new seat springs and new foam padding, thought it best left to the pro's, plus I need to be realistic about my time constraints.
As you can tell I went from a tan vinyl to a full black leather interior. Well worth the deviation from stock. Larry, appreciate your opinion on the aluminum. I myself really like it. It is original to the car. It also has a rear lower valence to match, unfortunately I'm missing one of the rear quarter pieces. I'll have to have it fabricated one of these days. Mossguy, its a deal. stay in touch and we'll get together in the spring. I can show you my rust spots. Thanks for the input. KevinS
