Chris,

AFAIK all that stuff has been removed from my engine, and it runs great. The key may be to make sure if something is removed, then everything should be.(?)

I have a different , earlier style, WUR, one that allows WOT enrichment via vacuum.

Thats the ticket right there, if you don't want the O2, then you need to get rid of everything and start backdating.

The first year of Lambda was '80.
1981-83 had more stuff added as mentioned above.
Removing the CAT and the OX sensor on the '80 worked for me but not for some people.
I found that exchanging the US '80-'83 CIS to an earlier US '78-'79 (Or Euro '78-'83) works well providing it fits in with local Aircare.
The distributor needs to be recurved or a US '78-'79 (Euro '78-'83) distributor should be used.
psalt and Paul have stated it better than I could: Leave the system complete or remove everything Lambda.
I like the non-Lambda CIS because it's reliable and uncomplicated.

Problem w/ the non lambda CIS in many states, is that you have to have the air pump up and running.
