The Koni strut inserts I got on Ebay didn't come with the upper rubber mount bushings (not the buffer inside the outer tube, but the kinda cone-shaped doughnuts where the strut mounts to the body). I've looked high and low for replacement bushings (poly or rubber) and have come up short. Any ideas?

Clay,
They didn't need to include any bushings ... you just slip the bump-stop buffer, the top dust shield over the strut, then poke it through the camber plate/mount and put the large factory washer over the htreaded strut rod ... and tighten the nut down! P.S. The factory camber plate/mount takes the place of your 'missing' bushings! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Warren, I wish it was that easy. The early cars (like mine) don't have a camber/caster adjustment plate (though I wish it did)-just a hole in the fenderwell-no adjustments possible. Soooo, I need new bushings.

Clay,
OK, the remedy is fairly easy if you are comfortable with SawZall and drill! Get some parts #8, 9, 12, 13 from the following diagram, and some Allen bolt and washers from a bolt store ... and get to work! http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_Parts/1974-75/4-2.JPG ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Clay, I'm not positive, but I may have those parts Warren is referring to at home that came with some struts I bought. If you are interested I can check on it tonight.
