Modding steering column

Advice and opinion sought.
I have fitted rack spacers to my euro spec rhd 75 911S. Its lowered and I am working out minimising bump steer.
I have also removed the rubber steering column to rack connection. This has been replaced with a universal joint below the position of the alignment bearing
"a la" Smart Racing kit but by my own hand I cut the shaft turned its diameter down and cut splines on it to fit the joint. All went really well but the rack being 9/16 higher than standard due to the bump spacers forces the alignment bearing to its absolute limit or beyond.
Being a practical sort of guy I made a new bearing sleeve which allows for the extra angle. All seems well with a lovely smooth feel to the steering BUT when the rack limits are hit the resulting force makes the column try to climb out of alignment. This may happen with a standard set up but I've never looked.
Question is does the community think its a problem ?

PS I haven't driven it yet and am not likely to for some time (long term cash limited project!?)
