Post 964 Wing

I'm trying to figure out how to position the micro sensors that limit motor travel on an electric 964 wing. If anyone could take a picture of the placement and mounting I would sure appreciate it. Short of that, if someone could describe how the sensors are mounted that would also help.

Jack Olsen's your man. He just loves to post pictures and I know for a fact that he has a 964 rear decklid. He's also a nice enough guy that he'll probably do it too. (When he's not criticizing you for driving too fast)

Here are three pictures of the underside of my decklid. I don't think they're going to be tremendously helpful for you, since my mechanic did the work, and he zip-tied the cover on the thing, so I can't take it off.

Click on the links for the pictures:

Microswitches, or relays?

Tyson's your man for explaining the rest of this. You've just got to catch him when he's out of jail.

Thanks Jack- I appreciate the effort. It looks like the limit switches are under the cowling that covers the gear mechanism. Oh well, what's a project without a mystery to solve?

Tyson's right, actually. I've got more zip ties. I'll snap a picture with the cover off, but I won't be able to do it until this weekend. Email me to remind me.

Good man Jack! Boy, being so selfless and helpful, you must really feel out of place in L.A. People must look at you funny. I bet you don't even cut people off or run stop signs! In the midwest, people are *too* nice.

Thumbs up

I also am very interested. I finally purchased a 964 wing with third brake light and I am planning to do the electrical portion of the installation so come on Mr. Olsen, start snipping ties.
thanks for all the info

And what's more, here's Tyson's drawing, converted into an auto cad file by Mike Clark:

HERE

I can't read it, since I don't have an auto cad program. If someone can convert it to a jpeg or a gif, email it to me.

Jack you need to take a picture from the other side as well and from the rear to show them the rear micro-switch.

All right, until I have time to snip more zip ties, here's the one shot I have from the reverse angle:
