Door Lock

Can someone explain how the anti-lockout mechanism operates. I have a 1986 Targa with manual locks however have what appears to be some sort of a power lock mechanism between the rods from the manual turn knob to the locking mechanism. No idea what this is for as I do not have a power lock switch (keyless entry at one time??) Things worked fine however the locking mechanism will not lock after I removed the panel to adjust the window. Should have left well enough alone!

Heh! Did that one myself After you've finished kicking yourself and if the door panel is still off take the time to work some light oil into the door release cable.
