PP has great credibility with members and buyers so I feel this "referral" is much more genuine. It would be great for routine maintenance items or more complex project items.

We have this in the shopping cart, and I will be adding it to the Project List, but it only works based on past purchases of other customers. Not too many 996 Twin Turbo owners are replacing their own pads these days...

I really like the "Assessment" section in some areas of the catalogue- suspension bushings for example. In other words, why are some products better or the same (other than cost) than OEM, and if other items are required or need to be altered to work. I think it would be even more beneficial if it were linked or cited user comment or input- not just a marketing add from the maunfacturer, but real world input. Be really slick if the part or system linked to the project book in order to demonstrate installation also...

Best-
Matt

As part of our new catalog, we're going to have a "more info" section for each part that might have customer reviews and feedback on parts. Still thinking about this a bit. We're also going to try to tie in the catalog more with the forums and the 101 books & tech articles.

Wayne,
I'm missing the functionality to COPY individual parts or all parts from the project list to the shopping cart. I'm an overseas customer and I often try different combinations of parts before placing an order. International shipping cost is very sensitive to some large or heavy parts and I have to calculate the shipping cost a few times to determine if some parts are cheaper to get locally. Today it is only possible to MOVE parts from the project list to the shopping cart, which leads to a lot of clicking for me.

Except from this, the project list is an excellent feature.

Wayne,

I love the project list feature, it's the main reason I use Pelican over any other web vendor for my parts.

A recent thread (started by you) addressed the issue of parts now having to be sourced from Germany, increasing order lead times among many other issues. Several items in my project list are such items, and I have no idea about their availability or status since they don't have a "move to cart" icon next to them. So in order to purchase these parts, I have had to call one of your employees to see what's going on.

Could there be a way to establish a "special order" icon so that (1) I know that the part is not usually held in inventory and (2) I don't have to call to order?

Thanks for keeping ahead of the curve.

This is fixed too...

Based upon your suggestion here, I have added the ability to copy parts without deleting them from the Project list.

Thanks,

Usually from 4AM to 10AM sometimes with a nap in the afternoon. You know how it is, you get going on a project and then you want to finish...

Wayne,

Is there someway we could click on a part on P/N in the PET manual and e-mail it to you for availability and quote?

Also I'm reinstalling my 3.2 engine and I see a lot of gray areas in the "Tech" articles. i.e. instaling the clutch arm and helper spring is a "breeze". There are some nuances that could be elaborated on. Also get some non-greasy pixs for better clarification.

Thanks,

How about once someone has ordered, they receive a customer number that for subsequent ordering, can be entered to automatically populate name and address fields?

What about having the option to add items to the project list that we haven't found in the PP catalog yet. So I could get ready for an upcoming project by entering in all my parts needed. Then I could start searching and finding parts that take care of my list items. Some items maybe I can't find and need to email you about (with a convenient button), or I need to buy the item somewhere else, and you get insight into what I'm buying that you don't carry.

This would bring together the PP project list, and my written lists I do all the time. Personally I wouldn't mind divulging what else is on the list for your benefit, since it's making my life easier by buying parts with less effot.

"Wayne: I think your changes are spot on. One question, couldn't you add a cookie or "garage" in which we could place our car(s) so that when you go to parts, you don't have to go thru the selection to go to your model?

I guess that's a petty "Gripe" as it's only a few keystrokes, but this site has gotten better thru the years, and this is one thing I've thought would be good."

I second this suggestion. It's actually pretty common, some of the big generic auto parts chains do it. Plus, the Tire Rack does it too. If I am in the forum, it would be nice to click on link to jump directly over to the main parts page for my year and model.
