Option codes sticker location

On my previous 86 the sticker was on the underside of the front hood. On my new 89, there is nothing there. Where [or is there] the sticker with vin, options codes, color etc.?

I have no paperwork for mine either. You can always call 1-800-PORSCHE and get a COA. Personally, I don't feel like paying $90 for something that is incomplete a lot of the time. If anyone has any other suggestions, I am interested too.

I think somewhere on this website I posted the same question. Here is what I think. Either statring in '85 or '86 (this is for 911 only) they stopped placing the option code numbers on the tags under the bonnet. My '84 has the codes and my '86 does not have the codes. If you view Ebay and look at '84,'85 and 86 911 cars some will show the tag with the codes. I have seen alot of '84 cars with the codes and none on the '86. So there

It should be there. So, I'm guessing it has either fallen off (common), been removed, or the hood was replaced/repainted at some point. There should be an identical sticker in your factory warranty manual (if you still have it). If you don't have one anywhere and are curious about the options, you can call Porsche as previously mentioned, but you do not need to order the COA. Porsche keeps a quick-search database for all cars going back to at least 1987 (could be earlier). So, all you need to do is call 1-800-PORSCHE and follow the prompts to the "customer commitment" division. A rep will be able to give you all the info over the
phone for a given VIN.

Side note:

I believe `89 was the first year that they stared putting small reflective VIN stickers on every body panel. I could be wrong, but the hood should have one of those somewhere as well.

Color sticker should still be on inner right side front fender, under trunk carpet.

Ahh, I do have the service manual. I'll look there. I'm curious to see if the car has ANY options. I am thinking not, except possibly LSD which is my real question. The car is obviously Guards Red, but I'm curious of the name of the interior color. My car does seem to have lots of the little vin stickers.
