G50 Linkage Part ID
I changed the transmission oil on my 1987 Carrera last week. I removed the cotter pin and separated a portion of the shift linkage directly adjacent to the filler plug so that I could fit my torque wrench and hex socket into the plug. When I reassembled the linkage, the old, dry nylon/plastic bushing broke apart.
I was only able to fish out small pieces of the bushing from the oil catch tray. I cannot find any photos or diagrams of the rear portion of shift linkage in my Bentley or on Pelican's site. I would like to avoid jacking the car up and taking a photo (due to laziness). Does anyone have a diagram of the linkage handy or know the part number or description for the part to which I am referring? Again, it is the portion of linkage directly across from the oil fill plug on a G50. Thanks for the help. If I have to, I will take a photo and post this weekend. Mike |
Don't know the part numbers, but here's a pic of mine. It happens to be up on jack stands already.

You should find what you need in this section:http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_Pcable_pg5.htm#item12
The plastic bushing is the first part listed. |
Thank you Zonas and J Smith.
So... That is the throttle linkage. I knew that...sure, I knew that. Zonas, your transmission is super clean. I think the orignial owner of my car must have ordered the special blackened grunge look option for my G50. Anyway. Thank you both. I was looking up the worng tree the whole time. Mike |

Thanks, Mike. The tranny was recently rebuilt. Tom Ammon shined it up before he returned it to me. Really looks sweet. |
