Lightweight seats

Does anyone know of a supplier of replica 2.7 RS Carrera LWT seats?
Failing this, are there any period-looking aftermarket seats available in a low back style (with the option of separate headrests) which are similar to the Scheele(?) seats fitted to certain racing 911s (eg 911R) in the late 60's/early 70's?

hey andy,
i recently saw a pair of the 911r style seats on ebay. the person's starting bid was approx $500 and there were no bids event though the auction appeared twice. i cked "search completed items" and they did not come up. i'm sure if you shout loud enogh on all the various p boards you can find the seller. i almost contacted the seller myself as he is only 40 miles frome me. otherwise ck out the link.
good luck,
bob

I've got an AIR catalog from '99 that lists them for $672.00 each.
Their number is 818-504-2500.

Anyone from Chicago?
There used to be a company which advertised in 'Excellence'in the early 90's called Cooper Technica that made accurate Carrera RS LWT seats - anyone know if they still exist?
Also, what is the correct spelling of the seat manufacturer who supplied seats for certain racing Porsches & BMWs - I've seen it written many different ways - Sheel/Scheele/etc ?

Andy,

I just acquired a pair of Scheel sport seats that I plan to restore. Then came from a '73 911 and are like the RSR seats except without the back rake adjustment.

They are in good shape now without tears or anything. Just missing one of the headrests and need to re-foam one of the seats.

I too am looking for info on Scheel (correct spelling as per the logo on my seats).

You had any luck? Can you help me?

Alvin

Andy,
Try www.911classic.de
They have exact replicas of the RS 2.7 lightweight seat. Not even expensive when you consider that the last lightweight RS seat on Ebay went for 1100$..

Thumbs up

George thanks for the info - their seats seem exactly what I've been looking for.
