Where to get or how to replace plastic rear window on Cab?
I accidently hit my plastic rear window this morning when the plastics was about 0 deg F and it basically shattered.
Now where can I get a replacement back window or even more basic, how do I go about replacing the rear plastic window on my 91 cab? |
Charles, here you go.
Replacing is possible but definitely not a DIY job. |
Check out Excellence....numerous top people there too. I don't have the issue in front of me or I'd send you the websites.

Somebody mentioned a very good experience with M & T & they seem cheaper than most.
Most of the canvas guys would probably sell them: GAHH, World Upholstery, Cabrioworld And for the record, sewing that area by hand is brutal. I had to repair my zipper seam & a corner of the plastic. Raw, punctured hands & just an OK job were the result. Ian |
For the record, while I was in GA, I had Atlas Top and Seats (Cleveland, GA) do the rear window and also put a new headliner, all for $525, while I was down there doing oil testing. It's even better than it was before I messed up the rear window now!

Labor to re-sew the zipper only (threads pulled out) on my 84 was $400.
Had I realized he pulled the thing off the car to sew it, I would have bought a new top to put on for that labor. :) |
