Engine Weight

I have an early (1966) 911 engine with Weber carbs, aluminium crankcase which I have to remove from the car. What is the weight of the engine/transmission? What is the weight of the engine alone (no tranny)? My lift is rated at 500 lbs and I don't want to be surprised.

My '69 spec book gives the weight for a T motor as 176 kg with oil - about 385 pounds or so ( check my maths !! )
The difference between your alu crankcase and the '69 mag crankcase should be 10 kg (22 pounds) heavier - so about 400 pounds.
Trans weight is 45 kg.
Maybe time for a new jack , just for safety's sake !!

HTH
Dennis.
