I removed the (Valeo) alternator from my SC engine about 3 weeks ago. When I removed it I tagged the wires as to location, but the tags became unreadable when I cleaned/degreased the shroud.
![]() This is how I remembered the leads being attached. Is this correct or do I need to re-do this wiring. By the way, this alt has the internal regulator. Thanks

911SC Technical Article - Voltage Regulator Replacement
Take a look at this. You can see the connections in my pics. The brown wires (with boot) connect opposite of Voltage Regulator. That should give you enough of a point of reference.

Quick response !.............
MCA,
Thanks, looks like I need to go back in! A couple of questions: 1) is your alternator Paris-Rhone Valeo or Bosch? 2) Do all the brown wires (3 small an large from engine) go to the same post? 3) I can't quite make out where the blue wire is connected. Thanks,

Hmmm .... I think mine is a Bosch with a Valeo Voltage Regulator.
The three brown wires that you see bundled (twisted) together and the green (used to be blue?) wire all go on a terminal. The two bundled red wires that end in a single connection go on another terminal. The single red wire goes on another terminal. ................ Does anybody have a Valeo so that we can help out Fred?
