Long time lurker - first time poster
Hi all:
Okay, after hanging around the forum for years and learning a TON about 911s I finally want to post and show off my car a bit. I've owned it almost two years and done a few things to personalize it. Newly recovered sport seats, new trunk carpeting, lowered a bit and installed ER adjustable bump steer kit and strut brace. Also aero mirrors. It already had 22/28 torsion bars and Bilstein struts and the RUF wheels and front end. The engine is currently out and I am just finishing a total rebuild. The typical valve guide/smoking problem, but I got carried away with the while-I-was-in-theres. New Supertec 3.4 cylinders with JE 9.5cr pistons, a Daugherty Racing DC19 cam and springs and headwork by Bob at Atlantic. A few engine dress up items also. Currently running new A/C lines while it's up on jacks. Hope to get the engine installed in a week or so. It's been a long four months. I've owned two other Porsches in the past: 1974 914 2.0 SE and a 1985 944 that I bought for my son to drive. BTW I do almost all my own mechanical work, it's really my only hobby. This is the third engine I've rebuilt, but the first 911. Assuming I can upload the photos, let me know what you think. Thanks for the comps.
dickenpoohp: Yeah, it's my first 911 rebuild, but I've been working on cars for (gulp) 38 years. billybek: Did the seats myself with a kit from Cypok (Ebay). Took them from my son's 944 after he totaled it. See before and after pictures below. Never had such sore fingers in my life! Paul K: I'm in North Central Maryland 25 miles west of Baltimore. How do I add the "location" to my info? Angelo http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1200971196.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1200971289.jpg |
