Lowered the car today

I finally got some new tires, Kuhmo 205/60 15 and lowered the car. It was around 25-3/4" from the floor to the fender lip on all corners. Now its sitting at 24-1/2" at the rear and Im going to set the front at 25". It was sure a pain getting the rear springplates off. I think on my 71 im going to spring for the adjustable plates. I originally used the springplate angle and had it set for 26 degrees. I reset it to around 22 degrees now.

Next warm day I need to wash off all the dust. I also need to fix some oil leaks. I am waiting for some new seats and about a hundred other small things to finish and hopefully it will be on the road this spring.

It has a lot better stance now! I need to do that to mine also but I too have the small things to fix first!
How difficult was this to do?

The second side was easier than the first. I ended up using a metal wedge to drive the springplates off the torsion tubes. I had replaced the bushings not to long ago and they were tight. After I figured that out it wasn't to bad.

Gotta say your car looked much higher than stock in the first place. I'm running 195/60/15 tires, my car looks like yours now and it's at stock height. Who did the corner balancing on your car before you lowered it?

Ive recently replaced all the rubber parts in the front and rear suspension. I also replaced the torsion bars so it was me that had it set too high to start with. I will get it aligned but I don't know of anyone in the St. Louis area that does corner balancing.

Looks just right to me.

Hopefully a local Pelican can help direct you to someone for the corner balance. After replacing all the parts you did, an expert corner balance will improve your driving experience about 300%!
