How difficult to re-cushion my '69 vinyl front seats as DIY?

I am thinking of ordering the pieces pic'd below ( btw anyone sell these for less than $500 for 4 pieces of plastic foam? )-- .......... Looking for advice on how hard would it be to tackle this project on my own? I did a search of the Tech forums but could not locate any relevant info.

My '69 has black, stock (non-sport) lowback seats with the black vinyl basketweave center section. 40 years of horse hair depletion ... now they really are 'buckets' -- in their shape. My car is a nice driver not concours, so restoring to authentic horse hair stuffing is not essential, mainly I'm just trying to avoid full $ upholstery shop cost if possible. Thanks pelicanites for any ideas!

Easy job but time consuming. I've done it...and it's fun and you'll learn how to become an upholsterer...But don't post pics of your pants...

I did a recovering of '85 sport seats this past summer. I assume you are also replacing the uplhostery, not just the foam? If so I have a couple of suggestions:
1. Take lots of pictures when you uncover your seats. It's not obvious how everything goes together (at least on my seats - 5 pieces per seat)and one wrong fold will look obvious when you're done.
2. Get a GOOD pair of hog ring pliers. I tried to do with a cheapy pair and regretted it mightily. Get a pair with angled jaws and cushioned grips if possible. Your fingers will thank you.
3. Get the covers warm before you try to stretch them over the cushions. You will be shocked to find how tight they are over the foam. I let them heat up on the deck (summer heat) before pulling over the frame. It was still tough.
4. It's not hard, but it is tedious. Take your time and get it right the first time. If you rush and screw up you will regret it every time you open your car door. Good luck and feel free to ask any other questions.

Ho...and do one seat at a time...so if your memory or digital pics go wrong...you'll get another example on hand for reference.
