Help ID engine casting

I have an engine with the following casting numbers on opposite halfs. Type number seems to have disappeared. Any way of telling what this engine is?
Thanks
maze

901.101.102.3r
901.101.101.3r

I think it is out of a 69E

even if the type number is not visible, the engine serial number should be. Like many casting numbers, they were the same casting for several years and in some cases, more than one engine size.
