Rear View Mirror
My rear view mirror fell off the window the other day while adjusting it.

I can't tell you how to get the button off but I can tell you that you won't have to hold the mirror up there for an hour. More like a minute, possibly two. I used the Permanex adhesive that comes with the little glass vial of blue stuff. It worked great. Just get a comfortable way to brace your arm while you hold it and it really won't take that long. Best of luck, Dan

The mirror "slides out" of the button.
Imagine it on the windshield...to get the mirrow off you would push or tap it up, parallel to the glass, toward the roof. It's a tight fit...many times when a mirror vibrates it's because the slot on the button loosens up. So make sure you're trying to separate them in the right direction. I had the mirror on my daily driver fall off one cold winter day. A glass shop but it back on for me. The guy and I had a nice conversation while he was working and when he was done I think I gave him $5. Call around and see what it would cost.

I couldn't get the button to slide out. I did however get the Permatex adhesive and held the mirror in place for 5 minutes while the glue cured. After a short test drive, I think the problem is solved.
