Just got my lift

I just got my garage lift in and can't weight to change the oil just so I can use it! It is not the best but it will do the job. Finally, I won't have jack up the front, then the back, and then get the stands, and go through the whole process backwards to take it down.

Looks pretty rugged.
Just don't crush your oil lines!
(I see the Sawzall is ready if you do.)

Yea, I definitely will be sure to not crush the oil lines. It is pretty rugged. Considering it was less than $1000, it looks pretty durable and even if I have a problem with the motor/pump, it can usually be purchased at a reasonable price. Considering I won't be using everyday it should last.

Where did you get it and what powers the hydraulics?

I got it from harbor freight. Check out www.harborfreight.com and look up item number 46604. It is powered by a 1 hp, 110V motor. The motor is attached to a dolly that also allows you to move the lift around if you need to. The motor is actaully mounted to the dolly and there are hydraulic lines that connect to the lift from the motor. Assembly was pretty easy.

Great lift!!

I've been researching them too. I would like to get one to store my car in the winter (and do some work too!), so I'll need a 4 post lift, mainly looking at Eagle.

Best of luck and have fun!!

regards,

Is there a device to lock it in place once it is fully extended?

If it can't be locked into position, I bet a few well placed jackstands would do the trick.

Wow - great price. I'll look into it; thanks for the link to HF.

Have you driven over it yet? I'm wondering about clearance issues as I would have to store it under the 911.

Cool

I'm sure it's a good one.. the Snap-On mid rise lift is the cats a$$.. sells new for big bucks.. but used can go for $1,000.. I posted pics here before of it.. do a search or I'll post the pic again.. and the Snap-on can be driven over w/euro ride height, or you gotta use a board to drive on for clearance........Ron

How high does the car go up, and can you drive right over it?
This is a very intriguing item
Thanks for the post

I use a 1/8 inch steel plate.. usually sold in 4X8 sheets.. this not only smooothes out the rollers travel, but will help prevent all the concentrated weight from cracking the cement......... Ron

These are cool. The only problem is that you can't really work underneath the car too well when they are extended. For the 911, it's not so much of a problem, as there isn't much in the center of the car except the floorpan. But on other cars, access can be a big problem...
