Post Headlight Washer Removal

Need to remove my front bumper (88 Carrera) for some paintwork. I've got the Bentley Manual but there's nothing in there as to how to remove the headlight washers - any tips?

Thanks

Roy

Their pump is by the resevoir under the left front fender. If you get under the car, you can reach them without removing the bumper at all--or at least I was able to plug the hose back into a leaky one from there.

In any case, if you have to pull off the bumper directly, the hoses feeding them will just pop off. Then you can unmount them with the bumper off the car.

Thanks Kurt

The bumper is coming off for paint and I had hoped the washers would be as easy as you say.

Good Morning.

If you want to make sure they pop off with breaking. You can disconnect then with a little work.

This parts diagram shows the old style of washer system, but they're about the same. Look at part # 53. That part gets left on the hoses attached to the pipes behind the bumper. I think you can reach them after taking out the front turn signals. I did.
Its tight. And Kurt's right, they just slip off. It is a connection, like a plant drip system.
I repaired my system without taking off the bumper.

Good Luck
