Can anyone tell me can you use a 964 oil cooler instead of the trombone oil cooler on my 2.7?

Absolutely you can. I use a 964 cooler with my 2.7. It's been a very worthy investment. Also, if you drive in traffic, you should consider from Pelican (if you haven't already), the electric fan and the little right-side bumper air scoop.

you want a carrera oil cooler from 86-89 , or from our host, or use a b+B kit, terba trol kit, elephant racing kit

lots of choices that all work much easier than adapting a C2 cooler to the car
