What do these numbers mean?
 
Need help decoding serial number on engine from 1983 Turbo.
I've looked through Performance Handbook, searched(ing) internet, cannot find anything.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.
Does anyone know what these digits mean?
*67D0397*

That's the engine serial number.
6 = 6 cyl
7 = turbo
D = 1983
next 4 digits are production sequence number
