Leland,
Keep in mind that Stoddard's is a dealer, so their prices on some items are close to Porsche wholesale, but they are bound to sell within Porsche's pricing rubric. They are expensive for some items, and I have found that Pelican has similar prices on Stoddards cheaper items, so I now just go with getting it all from one place. Stoddards is good (since they're a dealer) when you need some little obscure part, however. Nick. ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com PCA -- Rocky Mtn. Hey Leland, no fun living in the bushes huh? Have the same problem everything comes to me UPS, no, and I mean no Porsche stores close. Stoddard Porsche is the best for some things and not good for others. This is where you need to do some shopping. But if you need something real bad it's the place to go. I belive they still give a PCA discount.
A bit of triva, Chuck Stoddard who no longer owns the dealership has a Porsche crest tattoed on his chest. Randy Jones 1971 911 |

Sorry to hear about your slow response. FWIW, my dealings with Stoddard have all been great. Emails to the parts people have invariably been returned the next day, folks on the phone have also been responsive and knowledgeable. After completing several parts intensive projects and putting together some vendor comparison parts spreadsheets, I also found that Stoddard is higher on some things, and cheaper on others when compared to Pelican, Vertex etc.
Besides the excellent parts catalog, I think Stoddard excels in the number of obscure parts that they keep in stock. I hope your experience was just an isolated incident. |

Hey, Leland!
The OEM SC studs were only $10.25 when I checked ... and you can get Loctite 518 at a local NAPA store! I have seen SC flywheels for less, but yours could be resurfaced, ONCE, unless it has been done before! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

We're less expensive on just about everything than Stoddard (and Performance). Plus we have this great website that you are reading at this very moment.
You do have a choice in where you purchase your parts - Pelican offers good pricing, great support, and this website that many of you call home! ![]() -Wayne |

Wayne, I'm still hurt that you edited my profile.
![]() I was just checking around Wayne, I jist wasn't expecting to see s $414 flywheel. Yikes...that's not even close to any other supplier I've seen. Maybe I just had a bad first impression, but I don't think I'll be knocking on their door again. |
