3rd brake light, what year?

What year did Porsche start putting the third brake light on the Carrera 3.2's?

By Federal Law, all 1986 and newer US cars had to have a 3rd brake light. Trucks and other vehicles were exempt for a few years.

Thus, it must have been that 84 & 85 Carrera with the rear spoiler did not have the brake light that stuck up but the 86-89's did.

Started in 86 but I think that 'Cyclops' light was a cab thing. 86-89 Targas and Coupes are at the top of the rear glass and mounted inside.
