Durant Mirrors for My '71

Hey Everybody,

There are some Durant Mirrors on ebay at the link below. Will they fit on my '71? I'd like to add one to the passenger side too. I did a search and read where the Durant mirrors are same for both sides is that true? I also read to not by the repro's as the have limited adjustment and you can't see anything out of them.

I don't have access to eBay right now, but there are two sizes of Durant mirrors--your car takes the larger size, if that's what's being advertised. Usually the seller will clarify which size he is selling.
As to your other question, you can use the same mirror on both sides and probably should avoid the repros. due to quality issues and some adjustment issues. However, many right side mirrors are mounted incorrectly which accounts for the uselessness of the mirror. Be sure to mount the right side mirror in the proper location which is not in the plugged mounting holes in the passenger door, near the top front--those are for a RHD driver's mirror. The passenger mirror needs to be mounted further back and a bit higher on the door. Ask for pictures of proper mounts to be sure. Bottom line, the two side mirrors are not symmetrically mounted.

And technically, Durant mirrors on the passenger door from the factory were convex.

I have the small mirror on my '67 912T4, and don't really think our 911/912 cars need the passenger side mirrors... Just my 2 cents.
