Disassemble Inside Rear View Mirror?
 

I just got this mirror for my '65 911 and wonder if anyone can tell me how it comes apart. The tab for day-night flipping is broken off and I'd like to replace it. The case seems to be one piece which would lead me to believe the mirror has to come out from the face side. I'm guessing it's held by adhesive and may be released by the application of heat but don't want to try anything which might cause damage. Not to hijack your thread, but I've got a 87 with a plastic housing mirror. Night vision toggle lever is loose and no longer tilts and hold mirror in position.....so it rattles.

Is there a fix short of buying a new mirror?
