end of life clutch question
What are the 'signs' when a clutch reaches end of life? Does it become immediately undriveable?
I have a '85 3.2 with 125K and original clutch. Everything is working fine but I'm getting a little nervous about taking long trips in the car.. During my last visit to my favorite mechanic, he said the clutch adjustment was 'all the way' indicating there isn't any adjustment left (?). If I take a long trip (200 mi each way - weekend trip), will I be able to nurse the car home if it should start slipping... Yes, I know, I should just get it replaced.... Thanks,
