911sc interior upgrades
One day soon it'll be time to decide whether to redo my leather seats or to replace the seats with something more sporty. Would an RS style seat be something I'd be sonsidering? If so, can someone show me an example? I'm not interested in tracking the car, but a hotter looking seat interests me.
Also, I'd consider a different steering wheel. Any suggestions out there? Let's see 'em!! Paul

Seats and interior mods...
I have 2004 996 seats, 4-point 2" new restraints attaching to the roll bar, aftermarket "Momo" knock off with Porsche button and RS-style panels. Very comfortable.

You can get that yellow sticker off with a heat gun; maybe even a hair dryer.
Very nice. IMO. Last edited by tcar; 02-03-2008 at 05:11 PM.. |

tre has great looking rs style seats. Next gratuitous purchase when i have some money. The stock sc seats are so heavy. I have a momo corse wheel. Its great, but you can't go Wrong with a prototipo.

There is a cheap pair of 993 seats for sale here at $500, and they are relatively close *no shipping*
http://www.dorkiphus.net/porsche/showthread.php?t=11155 I have no affiliation with the seller just thought they might be good for you. You can dye them black if you want black. Rich

We've put 993 seats in an SC. Wouldn't do it again on a bet. They are taller in the seat cushion area than the SC seats. Though you can use a seat adaptor (someone in this group makes one), as the seat is already taller and the adaptor adds a little bit, a tall fella might not fit so well.
My husband, Steve, is 6'2. The 993 seats sat him up just enough too high that his head touched the roof. I'm 5'5 and fit perfectly, in fact for me visibility out of the car was actually better than with the SC seats. To fit Steve, he wound up cutting out the SC mounts on the floor and fabbing up a set then welding them in place. Obviously no going back now, but he has the perfect fitment for him. If you buy those 993 seats, might be a good idea to take test fit with one of them in your SC. Could be perfect for you (as they are for me) or a no-go as they were for my husband. Just my 2 centavos. angela
