Material needed for custom suspension gasket
Hi.
Hoping someone can direct me to the proper material. I am looking to add coilovers with camber plates to my 965. I would like to put a very thin rubber gasket in between the mount and the fender to try to keep noise as low as possible. Something similar to the stock ones. Now I know I want something very thin that does not allow for play in the mount. I am thinking like CD thin. I want to avoid the metal on metal. I looked at the autoparts store and found some bulk roll gasket material but it certainly wasn't the type of rubber found in suspension components. I would like to find something that can stand up to the abuse. Any recommendations would be aprreciated. Cheers. RT Good ending to the Super Bowl I must say. |
Industrial-strength rubber floormats (the kind they use under machinery, flooring)...

Better yet, use a urethane material with a 53-57 durometer.
Thats FAR more durable than any rubber,............... |

Any ideas as to where one might find a thin sheet of it or where someone could get a set cut? Cheers. RT |
Go to McMaster-Carr (mcmaster.com) and search for "rubber sheet". From there you can sort by many variables. Hope this helps.
