Best wrench in Nor Cal/ Sacramento area?
Previous owner of my car has a fair share of maintenance through a company called Salerno Motorsports in Rocklin, Ca. A few people (Non P-Car friends)have even recommended that company. I just thought I would get an honest recommendation from the pelicans.

Salerno's seems to have a good rep, but I have no direct experience with them. My neighbors with Bimmers and some other Pelicans have had nice things to say about Schatz & Krum, so that is another possibility.
As fo ones I have direct experience with, Frank's did the PPI on my car and missed some things. They did some other work for the PO (starter, DME relay) and did a credible job with both diagnosis and repair, so perhaps they just had an off day when the PPI was done. Ron Kain's IPB Autosport just did an align/ride height/corner balance for me and did a fantastic job. It was spendy but the cross weights are within a pound of each other and the car works much mo' bettah. I also saw where things had been tweaked and adjusted with care (little pen marks, correct torque values on fasteners I checked) which gave me some comfort that the job was done right. They had some truly sweet hardware in the shop as well which tells me that some pretty particular folks bring their rides there. -JWL |

MobileWerks
Jimmy Dering of MobileWorks East used to service the Sac area. Lucky for us in So. Cal. he has relocated down here...
Search on "Tom Amon" of MobileWorks West, as he may serice that area.

I've been to Salerno's shop and it's impressive. I spoke with him and he seemed to be a very good guy. He declined to work on my early car though ( 73 2.4 MFI ). He's worked on my friend's 06 Carrera and he swears by him.
Ron @ IPB has done a great job for me & Tom Amon @ MWWest is great too. |

Renntech in Auburn is pretty good. He has a pretty good backlog sometimes.
