I'm thinking about getting a copy of the Kardex for my 912 from PCNA. What information is on the kardex for the early 911/912? Thanks

Not much! you get the bare minimum: Chassis number, Engine number, Paint color, Date manufactured, Ordered by.. That's about it.
I think it is a scam to charge so much money for a piece of paper that takes 5 seconds to print from a laptop. Regards Stef |

It is valuable if you want printed documentation that your car's numbers match (i.e. VIN matches engine number, and trans number too if on record). Otherwise, kind of a pointless way to spend $35

Unless you have money to burn, the only real reason to get this document is if you are going to enter the Preservation class in PCA concours. It is said the judges will give additional points for it.
On the other hand, I have 356-owning friend who visited Zuffenhausen and got the *real* Kardex for his 40 year old car. All the details were nicely recorded. He was not charged for it either. 356 owners have cool. ------------------ Doug '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA members.home.net/zielke/911SC.htm [This message has been edited by Doug Zielke (edited 04-12-2001).] |

It does include the engine serial number, and purportedly the trans number, but for both of my cars the trans numbers said "not recorded"
