Road Trip - Porsche Support
Hi all,
I'm going to be heading to California for a little vacation and to bring my new Porsche back. I'll be heading back on March 9th-11th and I'll be leaving San Diego and going to Vancouver via the I-5. Has anyone on here done this before? I'm looking to see if you happen to have names and numbers of PCA friendly peeps on the route that would help a fellow Porsche owner down on his luck if I have an issues on the drive back. Porsche mechanics looking to help out, guys with a tow truck that can get you to an honest shop, etc are all great names and numbers to have along the route. Thanks in advance! PS Its a 1999 996 C2 Cheers Aaron |

Please add your location to your profile so we know where you are. FWIW, there's a good P car mechanic just off I-5 south or Portland- Stuttgart Autotech. We meet near there for our monthly PCA Arrive & Drive events when the weather is better. Be sure to take a lot of pics on your trip! Cheers, Paul.

I suspect your trip will be incident free, but if you are on I-5 near Medford, OR and need a hand, give a shout.
We're not terribly competant mechanics but we do keep our cars driving and would be willing to help you out of a bind. On a 996, well, we could help you with a tow... That darn anti-freeze thing is just so perplexing for us... We'll PM you phone #'s. If you are heading to Vancouver BC., a genuinely GOOD mechanic is John Walker - John Walker's Workshop in Seattle. steve and angela

+1 for AAA. Be sure to get the extended package. (Not the 20 mile or whatever the base is).
