How To Remove Power & Heated Front Seats
I need to remove my drivers seat for some leather repair on my 1985. My front seats are both 8 way power and heated. I removed all 6 hex head bolts holding the seats to the floor without any problem. However, I'm not sure how to disconnect the wires under the seat. There appears to be one bundle of several wires attached somehow in the middle of the seat and one additional set of two wires toward the back of the seat with an obvious connector that I should be able to separate.
My problem is how to remove the larger bundle of wires going to the middle of the seat. It looks like there may be a plug or connector supported by a metal bracket that might separate but I'm not sure. Can anyone who has done this before tell me how to approach removing the larger bundle of wires? Thanks. Dom |
there's a connector... just loosen the front bolts of the rail a bit, but leave em in the thread a little bit
Slide the seat forward, remove rear bolts completely slide back seat remove front bolts completely , gently tip seat backwards , remove connector |
It just pulls right off. Easy to disconnect when the seat is in. Make sure you reconnect it BEFORE bolting the seat back up unless you have micro-hands ;)
