Mileage counter(the black box with the OXS reset switch). . .
1) Is this driven by the same pulse as the speedo? I hear a speed dependent ticking coming from back there; just like a catching speedo cable. 2) How accurate are these things in 911's? The book says the OXS light comes on every 30k. I would like to use this light to correlate with my odometer mileage, but have yet to se an OXS sensor come on even close to the 30k, 60k ... ------------------ '81 Platinum Metalic SC Coupe |

http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/Forum3/HTML/003915.html I snipped the ground (brown) wire. Stopped the click...click...click right away! Nick. ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com PCA -- Rocky Mtn. Region |

I disconnected the ground wire that goes to, I think, the oil gauge. No more noise.

Thanks guys.
I'm glad I'm not the only one perplexed by hearing speedo cable click on a car w/ an electric speedo. I think I'll just transplant it into my box of dead weight porsche parts. ------------------ '81 Platinum Metalic SC Coupe |
