fuel pump relay on 74 911

there isnt one that i can find. i have one relay on the fuse panal, and according to the plastic cover its for the horn. i keep reading there is a red relay somewhere for the pump. did 74 not have a pump relay? there are holes for more relays, but no wiring going to them. car is unmolested as far as i can tell. put 82 3.0 in it over the winter, lamda harness included, put the 82 fuel pump (which was on the front of the 82 doner car) in the rear (where the orginal 74 pump was) plugged it into the 74 harness and it seems to work fine, motor pulls strong through all gears. What im getting at, is this going to be ok (no fuel pump relay) Ive read in a few cis manuals about how the fuel pump will only run when the sensor plate is in motion, mine run all the time and it kinda worrys me. i;ve put about 100 miles on the car since the swap (by driving around the block) and so far i;ve had no problems (even though my 02 circut is not working yet, control unit is trash, and i need a lamda relay to, anybody have either? any input would be helpful, thanks

No relay for the fuel pump in my '74 either. After studying the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual, it looks like a relay did not exist. The circuitry for the pump in the '74 runs the fuel pump as soon as the key is turned. The wiring configuration that would only run the pump when the car is started is part of the "chassis" wiring on a later car (vs. the engine wiring).

One warning about the original fuel pump location on a '74: heat will cause significant stress on the pump. This is one of the reasons (as far as I know and as far as I've read here) that the factory moved it. But, it's no trivial matter to relocate the pump either.

Relays came later, when I'm not sure. Neither my 73 nor my 74 has one.
