Engine Lid Bracket - Broken

My SC has a turbo tail with a dual shock kit to hold it up. Yesterday I after closing the lid I noticed it was not level. I reopened it later to see that the hinge on the driver's side was bent. Now when I try to close the lid the shocks do not retract at all and the hinge bends. I could not shut it.

Is this bracket easy to change out? I am looking to order one but think I may need to go to the dealer. I did not see it on Pelican. Does anyone know what this part costs?

Common break on the 914s not so on the 911....depending on where it is, it may need to be spot welded.

Removal and reinstallation of the arm from the body of th car to the deck is easy. Remove the entire rear deck and set it aside (4 allen bolts, one on each arm at the deck) and then the arm is removed by removing the bolt that goes thru the hinge on the body. The arm then pulls out easilly. If the bracket on the car itself is broken, it will need to be welded and involves a little more effort. The only tricky part is getting the deck realigned by trial and error when you refit it. Have someone help you by holding it. You can carefully close it to check where you are an (be careful, it may hit the body) until you have it in the spot you like.

Hope this helps.
Nick.
